The senior school at Buninyong offers an all-inclusive curriculum. The primary focus in our area is to develop happy, resilient individuals who have the ability to work with others and make good future choices. The emphasis is on students achieving success in their learning, increasing their independence, taking greater responsibility for their actions and establishing values that will lead to good citizenship in the future.
The senior section incorporates strategies from the Early Years Literacy and Numeracy programs to deliver a comprehensive curriculum designed to improve successful student outcomes in the core domain areas of English and Mathematics. There is a major emphasis in technology across the school. We have a 1-1 Netbook program in grade 5 & 6 which is integrated into all areas of the curriculum, particularly in Literacy and Numeracy. Students are also encouraged, where appropriate, to use the internet to assist with research projects.
All classes attend four specialist sessions each week: Art, Music, Japanese and Physical Education. Senior section programs are further enhanced by the support and guidance of both Extension Maths programs as well as support programs. In addition to specialist programs, the senior school offers a wide variety of extra- curricular activities for students including sporting opportunities, debating teams, transition bands, extension programs, camps and excursions plus much more.
